I went to this shop looking for help with my concern for immune support. The owner was so helpful and took her time showing me all the products. I have food sensitivities so I have to be careful of ingredients. The supplements they carry are food based. She even offered to special order anything I might need. Great place!

I went in looking for a Bob’s Red Mill product that was soy based. The clerk immediately got a rude haughty attitude saying they didn’t carry ANYTHING with soy. I tried to say “okay thanks anyway” and leave but she continued to argue with me that soy is terrible for you and it has phytoestrogens and it’s GMO and whatever. I tried to disengage and said “agree to disagree” but she just kept going. I’ve done my research on soy and am of the belief that it’s perfectly healthy. My complaint with the shop isn’t that they didn’t carry what I was looking for—that’s fine, sell what you want in your own store—but that the woman kept trying to argue with me with her outdated opinions when I was just trying to leave. I won’t be returning, even though there’s no other health store in town.

I have been going to act natural for smoothies and other drinks and they are so good. They have a variety of products in the store and have a great selection of lemonades and other drinks to cool you down for the summer heat! Love this place!

I recently became involved in looking at more healthy alternatives in food and lifestyle for myself and family. A few simple "Google Searches" provided several different sources of "Health & Wellness" recommendations. I did call a few that were more convenient to me in Southeastern CT, and it seemed like I was always being "sold" on the latest and greatest gimmicks and gadgets. I was simply looking for accurate, friendly advice, not a pushy sales approach from the "Big Box" stores. Ironically, I did see Act Natural Health & Wellness online, but Torrington is not necessarily convenient for me, so I never even called. That said, in my frustrations while venting to friends and family of my searches for a smaller, down to earth and RELIABLE source for vitamins and general health lifestyle alternatives, several people I spoke to absolutely raved about Act Natural Health & Wellness in Torrington. I called first, and was so extremely and pleasantly surprised at the wonderful and helpful approach right from the start. I don't remember who I spoke to, but the experience was nice enough I drove the extra distance to the store and I'm so happy that I did. The store is delightfully quaint with "just enough" small town charm, but the knowledge and insight to serve anyone. I had no idea there was such a "science" behind this natural living, and was so pleased at how easily things were explained to me to understand. There are healthy alternatives for maintenance, food and drink......and some fun, crafty things thrown in that were for sale, too. Pam was so tremendously helpful. It is clear that she LOVES what she does. This is truly a passion for her and I've been back to the store now two more times since my first visit. There was no judgment in terms of how serious or not my healthy lifestyle was or would ever be, just helpful and accurate information.
