In 1960 ,I attended 1st grade in Virginia City when my family lived up in Granite Creek,I visited the store as a treat to buy my favorite candy.I believe the Stevens family owned the store at the time,I may be wrong but my memory isn't the sharpest anymore.I do remember trick or treating there with my five siblings.I love Virginia City,full of the greatest people in the world.

Ranks is the official local go-to store for 1865 dressing up for either of the two annual summer Victorian balls. It's got sewing patterns and under garments and men's clothing as well. It's also the local town small grocery, book store, and souvenirs. Oh wait! It's a small town late 1890's Mercantile!!
